If you've ever been to Seattle, you've probably seen the Soundgarden. No, I don't mean the band. I mean this piece of art that sits in a park not far from the Space Needle:
That's where Soundgarden, the band, got their name.
These guys definitely got me through the 90s. They were just hard edged enough to appeal to metal lovers like me, despite being popularly classed with the 'Alternative' or 'Grunge' bands that were big at the time. Chris Cornell's soaring vocals have always been amazing, whether he's wailing out 'Jesus Christ Pose' or taking us deeper through 'Fell on Black Days'. Soundgarden have actually been around since the early 80s, although most of us probably hadn't heard of them yet.
And so I leave you with yet another great band from the 80s that have recently reunited and decided to tour again. Catch them while you can! And buy all of their albums, especially Badmotorfinger and Superunknown. You won't regret it.
