Look what our “unified republican government” brought us today:
Paul Ryan’s Congress decided we need more crazy old people with guns – basically arming the GOP base. In a 235 to 180 vote, the House of Representatives moved to eliminate a regulation put into place by the Obama Administration… no surprise there.
This regulation, however, required a background check for disabled Social Security recipients who are mentally incapable of managing their own affairs.
Let’s look at that one more time: The United States Congress decided that mentally ill people who have been proven incapable of handling their own affairs should have easier access to loaded weapons.
Employees at nursing homes better start getting hazard pay.
The NRA thusly appeased, Congress also removed a regulation that stopped coal mines from dumping waste into streams, so… pollute away! The coal industry has been dying for decades – it’s called progress – but now Congress wants streams to die along with it just so they can win a few votes from chanting voters in West Virginia.
Trump is scary, but a GOP controlled Congress is deadly.
Paul Ryan and congressional lobbyists know Puppet Trump will sign anything they send to his desk. We’re going to see mountains of similar irrational legislation move through Congress on a daily basis.
